During last months we have seen a growing return to Europe of production of swimming costumes and underwear by very famous brands. What do you think of this trend? And what is Banana Moon’s position?
As far as our brands Banana Moon and Livia are concerned, all garments and swimming costumes are made from European fabrics in our factories in the Principality of Monaco.
This approach means we can guarantee reliable quality products and offer our clients 2-3 week delivery for restocking orders.
Companies in the beachwear sector have come out of the turbulence of this international economic crisis either by resizing or closing down. What could the short term hold for the sector?
Some companies have been hit full-on by the economic crisis and some have disappeared. This has had important effects right along the supply chain. The disappearance of these companies has widened the breach for direct distribution, mainly produced in Asia.
Tell us something about your company and its medium-term objectives.
Banana Moon objectives for both the short and long term focus on development of exports. We have always followed a policy of partnership and “loyalty” with our clients, for this reason figures in France are growing both positively and steadily.
Our main development goals at the moment are Italy and Spain, which we will achieve through our agents and multi-brand clients and also thanks to the opening of franchise shops.
Two will be opened between now and the summer in Forte dei Marmi and Riccione and two more are in the pipeline for Marbella and Sitges.

The MarediModa fair is very useful. Indispensible, I would say.
